Here is a look at cutting apart a Fred
These will become new plants |

|
Don't cut too small |
|
 |
Most Freds can survive on their own roots, some people like to graft them, but usually not necessary, unless the growth is
really strange or if you just like the fun of grafting.

When cutting off branches to use as cuttings, I try to cut near
the base, sometimes easier to remove the Fred from the pot, cut off the lower branches, then repot.

Cutting up a Fred used
to be a thing I hated to do. I used to wait until one started to die before I tried to save some pieces,
a lot of times this didn't work, as the plant was too unhealthy. Now, I cut pieces off healthy plants,
let heal a week before starting them, it's fun!
